anyone out there

Record the noise and attach it here or on youtube etc.

That way it will be people to say yes normal or no not with 100% certainty.

Good luck with your problem, I am not the best speller in the world, I think you would find the google speller invaluable, It only takes a short time and gone over yours and it looks so much nicer. No offence meant or trying to belittle with regard to your spelling but,as the technology is here to help with spelling might as well use it, Obviously this post has been corrected with a spell checker.

Picking up people's spelling isn't necessary mellyboy especially when you contribute to a thead just to do so!

Shame Google don't have a grammar checker to help you out a little further.

Just pointing out that there is a simple tool to help with spelling, I use it all the time, not embarrassed to admit it, If just trying to help the guy if considered bad form on this forum I humbly apologize. ( no grammar checker available so you will have to tolerate my incorrect grammar , which my secondary modern education bestowed upon me 1957- 1961 )

Anyway, ignoring the spelling, since I think we could all understand without too many problem...

Once you've got the noise up I'm sure some people here with a 1.9 TDI can post up their engine noises.

If you want a second opinion try Streetwise Autos Lawrence Hill / Redfield area , oh dear I nearly added the Bristol L to area then, that would have confussed the non locals and the spelling police :giggle: : :giggle: Streetwise are a good independant specialising in AVG cars. Hope this helps

OK HEAR WE GO AGAIN

just been back to the skoda dealers to see the sale's person whoom i brought the car off.

he had a listen to the engine and came up with a dfferent thickness in the cam belt was causeing the noise but he said its not a probblem so they wouldent change it ??? :( :( :(

Agree with the Streetwise recommendation - I went there for my MOT earlier in the year and they were superb. Amazing premises, big, bright and clean - tucked away in the midst of a load of residential roads.

Cheap too - MOT for £35 can't be bad.

Anyway - have you had the cam belt changed at all??

ive only just brought the car and it only just over 2 years old with 29000 miles on the clock,

i agree they are one of the better dealers in bristol witch is why i went to them,

any way just phoned the sale person he's now going to have a word with his manager to see if we can sort this out because i cant live with that noise going on in the engine . aleast i can change the tyers to dampen the rd noise,

I go there to get my car serviced now that Streets have, deservedly IMO, closed down. Not the friendliest or most cooperative of dealers I'm afraid to say, but I think that's more a Bristol problem as every dealer I've ever had, um, dealings with in Bristol has been ignorant verging on rude. I found the Sales Manager at Bristol Seat/Skoda to be a bit of a prat - I'm not sure if he was actually wearing a bow-tie and drinking Pimms, but he kind of reminded me of someone who would. That's why I ended up buying my car from Platinum in Bath, who were not quite so useless and at least did a good deal.

You may get more joy if you can actually pin down one of the workers. Good luck.

Probably not required, but just in case anyone's confused Streets Skoda and Streetwise are 2 different places (former is a , er, former dealer, latter is an independent garage) :)

My car was originally supplied by streets - there's a completely useless fact for you.

No problem, they were a completely useless dealer. I'm surprised they could be bothered to actually sell you a car.

when i was at the dealers today a lad came in in a octavia and i asked him to listern to my engine . he said it was the daul mass flywheel i ask him what he done for a liveing he said he was a mechcanic,

so when the sale's man came out i told him and he said that cr-p as a dsg dosent have a daul mass flywheel. when i got home i goggled it and on honest johns site it say they do have daul mass flywheels SO

PLEASE Tell me who is right, :wall::wall::wall::wall:

That's actually a quite funny statement, as I bought it privately from a lad who worked for Streets and had it as his company car, so they didn't actually 'sell' it at all :giggle:

I am pretty sure the Dev has a DMF, I would ask to listen to another Derv Octy and compare, simple as that. Ask if they have a demo car and take it out. I tested a few dervs before I got my petrol, no noises or anything. If the demo does'nt do it then just reject the car, its up to them to prove there is'nt a fault, not the other way round.

IM THINKING OF TAKEING TO A VAG SPECIALIST IN SPRING ST BEDMINSTER WHO DOSE THE WORK ON MY VW 'S HE WILL DO A FULL REPORT ON THE CAR AND REPORT ANY DEFECTS IN THE CAR BUT ITS JUST ME SHELLING OUT MORE MONEY :swear:

WHY CANT i find who is the sale manager or a contact or email address for skoda in bristol (blade) are they changeing the staff around all the time??

The DSG does have a Dual Mass Flywheel yes and yes they do go, just like the SMF.

Even if it is this cambelt thing, that means they have either fitted the wrong belt or fitted the belt wrong.
