dogs setting of alarm

Featured Replies

Hi, I have recently brought a new Fabia 1.6 tdi, this is my first Skoda, it has done 1000 miles and is my pride and joy, i love it to bits, right down to its stunning black paint work, just one small problem, when i leave my dog inside ,he sets the alarm of, is there anything i can do to stop this happening

Thanks in advance Popey

The central locking system is equipped with a safe securing5) system. Locking the

vehicle from the outside causes the door locks to be automatically blocked. The indicator

light in the driver's door flashes. It is not possible to open the doors with the door

handle either from the inside or from the outside. This acts as an effective deterrent for

attempts to break into your vehicle.

You can deactivate the safe securing system by locking twice within 5 seconds.

The safe securing system is again activated the next time the vehicle is unlocked and

locked again.

If the vehicle is locked and the safe securing system is deactivated, you can open the

vehicle from the inside by pulling on the door opening lever. The door is unlocked and

opened at the same time.

The anti-theft alarm system* is also activated with the deactivated safe securing

system when locking the vehicle. The interior monitor* is however not activated.

Figured it was more productive than just posting

As above, upon leaving the car, press the button on the centre inside of the drivers door. Then close the door and within 30 seconds lock the car from outside using the remote. This has the effect of disabling the internal motion sensors and also the tilt sensor.

We use this facility when we take our Fabia's on the car ferry between UK and Spain.

Popey, Welcome to the site, that's a good choice of motor! You won't be disappointed with a Skoda. Do post regularly to let us all know how you are getting on with it. The 1.6TDI is quite new to us all and has created a lot of interest. So in particular we like to know about performance and fuel economy as you put the miles on her, and the general day to day living with it! Please can you tell us what engine option it is ie: 75, 90 or 105bhp. Is it the hatch or estate? Good luck and safe driving...enjoy!
