RAD SWITCH ADVICE NEEDED

Featured Replies

Ok so i went down to my local dealers on Saturday to change my coolant sensor that they gave me for a rad sensor, the parts man said he would take care of it and he would phone me when the part has arrived,

ok so i recivied a phone call today from them saying they had to know how many pins the sensor on my car had and what colour it is? i have a small problem as i am working away from home this week and don't have my car with me so i can't check my sensor and i need to phone them tomorrow so i can have the part for the weekend as they have to order it,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how many pins my sensor would have and what colour it would be? Its a 52 plate VRS i don't know if the VRS 1s are different from the others, if someone could give me this information they would be a life saver.

Thanks

Paul

It sounds like they are trying to give you another coolant temperature sensor, as these can either be 2 pin or 4 pin and come in two colours (black/grey for the older version and green for the newer version).

As far as I know the radiator fan control switch is only available in one format, it screws into the left hand side of the radiator.

If it's a Skoda main dealer they should be able to put your reg number into the computer to show exactly what parts are needed.

You need the green 4 pin CTS.

But do you need a CTS... it sounds like they gave you a CTS but should have given you a rad fan switch?

Yeah its not the green CTS iam after its the rad fan switch, i phoned them this morning and told them i was after a Radiator FanControl switch gave them my reg again and told them its screwed into the radiator on the lefthand side. Surley they have enough information to know what i need didn't think it would be this confuseing for them to order a sensor.
