ScotchGuard Treatment

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Whilst waiting for my MoT to be done, I was talking to the chap conducting the test, and the subject of cleaning products came up. He said that someone he knows does ScotchGuard treatment of vehicles, and that they have pads you pierce and ooze gel/liquid, which you then apply to the vehicle, which are in the region of £20 per pad (said person won't sell them a pad, and wants several £100 to do an interior treatment). So, I was wondering (on their behalf), does anyone know of a supplier for the ScotchGuard interior treatments (either the one I've described, or any of the others), or anything equivalent?

Thanks. :)

I've got proper ScotchGuard in the spray can form from eBay in the past. Does the trick very well.

He's right though, it can be difficult to buy it 'direct'.

Recommended to keep seats clean; liquid just runs off and any stains are really easy to lift

Thanks - would this be the stuff: http://www.3mselect.co.uk/p-955-scotchgard-protector-for-soft-furnishings-fabrics-upholstery-400ml.aspx ? (I know it's not the pad stuff, but you mentioned a spray)

It's not really for me (I don't eat or wear muddy clothes in the car, and everyone else is banned from doing so, too) - I'm just trying to find them somewhere they can get some of it, as they were quite helpful. :)

The pad/sponge you're referring to is the Supagard paint sealant...link

Supagard paint sealant

Don't bother paying anyone to apply it, it really isn't difficult to do yourself!

Supagard's interior carpet spray protector is also very good if you want to protect mats/cloth seats at the same time.

Ah, OK ... might be why I had a hard time finding it then! (they definitely said ScotchGuard, I'm sure!)

Yeah, they were looking for a supplier - after much moaning that they only wanted to treat the vehicle rather than sell them the pad, the person they were talking to wanted £40 for the pad, after stating that it cost them £20 to purchase. £40 buys a lot of decent wax! :)

Looks similar - think it was probably an older design can. But yep, looks good

Ta - at least I know I'm looking at the right stuff! :)
