Motorola RAZR V3

Featured Replies

Got one of these today. I like the idea but:

Attach it to PC - picked it up once, refused to acknowledge it ever again until i turn the phone off, reconnect, and then the connection drops again as soon as the backlight goes. repeat till infuriated.

Orange have cut down the menu's so much, it's impossbile to work with. Case in point is "Messages". The only things i can see are :Message inbox, browser messages and templates. So where do i create messages?!!!

How about jumping straight to the phonebook and doing a search to pull up a name?

Nope. You;ve got to go all round the houses.

I want to load up my own ringtones, but because the connection never works for more then 10 seconds, I can't. PLus, they've got a stack of bobbins tunes in there with padloacks all over it so i can't do anything.

I'm heading back to the shop tmr or friday for a little chat about this......

Why do all the greatest toys have serious usability problems? (as the Navman iCN510 just kept constantly recalculating my route while stood on a street corner in central london).......... :o:mad::mad::o :thumbdwn:

Whoo - Got the V3 to work perfectly with all my computers. FOr some reason, it's incredibly picky over the order of events in the first install. Get it wrong, and although it mght work, if you unplug the phone before closing the phone tools app, it won't work again till you delete the Motorola Modem from windows and the software and re-install both.

That little biggle overcome, it's rather nice to be able to send and receive sms message on the pc screen rather than have to get the phone out and open it up (lovely though it is!)

Got a phone call the other day while hooked up, and the PC also starts to make a ringing noise - wonder if it's possilble to take the call via the Pc?....Hmmm, experimentation required I think......

After RTFM.....I've figured out how to use the phonebook properly too. Actually much much simpler than I'd been doing it before.......D'OH!

And the speaker phone built in is nothing short of a revelation. Doing circa 70mph on the m-way yesterday morning, could hold a very civilised conversation. Range seems to be easily 3-4 feet (based on a call while at desk and me wandering about the room.

All in all, probably the most satisfying gadget I've bought in 2004 (GPS IS more useful, but since when does anyone get excited about a "tool"?)
