Throttle etc Fault Codes

Featured Replies

My Fabia 2002 1.4 16v brings up these fault codes:

Throttle Actuator (J338) Under-Voltage during Basic Setting P1564 Intermittent

Throtle Valve Controller Malfunction P1545 Intermittent

There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the car as far as I am concerned but I'm not a mechanic.....except for the Engine Management Light being on. Any ideas on how to sort out the above? Cheers.

OK....thanks. I've give the throttle body a good clean using carb cleaner. The EML is still on. I'm recharging the battery at the moment see if that makes a difference. Checking the wiring would be beyond an untrained person like me? Any other suggestions?

I saw this on another forum:

"So you got water on the floor? That could have causes all sorts of problems besides requiring a new CCM. How long has it been since it was replaced? Has it been running well for a while before the battery problem?

The P1545 could be something as simple as a loose rubber boot on your throttle body or maybe you need a whole new throttle body. Are you sure you didn't knock something loose when you were in there replacing the battery?

See for example this thread:

Or this one:

Just out of curiosity, has your coolant temp sensor been replaced recently?"

My question is regarding the above post is, is there a link between raplacing the coolant temp sensor and the throttle body as the poster seems to suggest?

Not much luck here. :'(

I give up then. :S

When you clear the codes, do they return instantly?, have you carried out the basic setting on the throttle body? You could erase the learned values in the ECU and then do the basic setting.
