Sunlight sensor

Featured Replies

Using the climatronic codes, I see that two of them relate to the sunlight sensor on top of the dash.

I can see that the sensor works, but as far as I know, it doesn't do anything - what's it there for? Is this something that can be made to do something with VCDS?

Mine's a mk1 Octy, by the way.

If it is a sunny day the climatronic (and most other climate control systems) will reduce the temperature in the cabin to slightly below what it would for an overcast day. This is because you will feel warmer in the sunlight even if the air temperature is the same.
