Non Skoda heater problem

Featured Replies

Wondered if anyone might know whats causing a heater problem on my Missus Hyundai trajet. Basically the heater will only blow cold air whether the a/c is on or not it just blows cold air. The car engine temp gets to half way as usual and all the mechanism moves when you move it to hot as if its moving flaps. Any ideas what it might be before I get it looked at? Also would I be better using an a/c specialist or just get hyundai to look at it? There doesn't seem to be many independent specialists around unlike VAG.

Cheers

Mike

The first thing to make sure of is that there's enough water in the system as that can cause problems.

Good shout, I'll check that out

Youn need to know as to whether it is an air blending heater, where a flap is moved to direct the air through the heater matrix, or a tap heater, where the heat is regulated by altering the coolant flow through the matrix. Control for both of these can be mechanical with a bowden cable or electrectric using motors.

All sorted now, thanks for the input though, much appreciated.

Glad to have been able to help but now you'll need to investigate why you lost the water in the first place.

'Mystic Meg john999boy' suggests the radiatior will be probably be leaking so check for any visible white marks and also look at the hoses as well. It'll keep you out of mischief won't it? :smirk:
