Tracking your SM

Featured Replies

A little while ago someone posted a link to a shipping company for us to be able to 'track' our SMs' that were on their way over on the boat.

Who was it who posted the link and how do we 'read' the information??

Thanks

Hi Mac D

Prob not me but if you try the following link.....

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?level0=100

.....then find the port of EMDEN. The cars are normally shipped on 'K'Line Europe RORO's - names all end in 'Highway'. They are shipped to Grimsby or Sheerness. For us in Sussex will obviously be Sheerness. You can zoom in and see what vessels are in the port and just before it sails, or shortly after, it will show you where the vessel is heading. Nothing in Emden at moment although they normally at sea over a weekend. For info vessel normally loads in the dock in lower right side of port. Opposite from the VW plant. There is a lock-gate to starboard as you turn into the port! You can track the vessel all the way to Sheerness if you wish to stay up all night...........And don't forget the shipping forecast!!

Site becomes strangely addictive if you waiting for a SM!! To my knowledge you cannot track a specific car unless you are Skoda UK.

Addictive...absolutely! Before our recent holiday we were checking the two ships operating Hull to Rotterdam and knew that Pride of Rotterdam had developed a problem two days before we sailed!

ISAR Highway is currently en route to Grimsby:

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shipdetails.aspx?MMSI=212949000

Neckar Highway currently docked at Grimsby:

http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/shipdetails.aspx?MMSI=212172000

Those are the only two relevent highway vessels I could find in the Emden itinerary.

WESER Highway cannot be tracked at present, last seen in the Baltic Sea:
