Fabia Wheels

Featured Replies

I own a Fabia 1 '09 1.2 70bhp with 15" wheels and I am looking to get skoda style alloy wheels.

Can anyone post images of any different styles that would fit the Fabia, and also suggest anywhere that I might be able to get some fairly cheap.

Quick question, can this fabia take 16" alloys or would it look a little stupid?

Thanks in advance :)

Well the Vrs has 18" i think and it looks the mutts!

Oh ok, I wouldn't go larger than 16" anyway I don't think.

Also, just thought, what effect would changing the size of the wheels have in terms of the brakes. Would anything need changing or nothing at all?

Thanks for the reply

Someone would need to tell us the PCD and offset of the MkII as im not to sure if they changed it to 5x112 :S

I don't think the fabia's changed from what I can find on the internet. Would the PCD or offset matter if I just stuck with the original 15" wheels, or only if I changed to 16"

But yeah I think they changed the Octavia mkII PCD but not the fabia

well there is no issue you just need to look into the wheels and tyers, larger the rim the less the profile.

Ebay is your best bet

Well the Vrs has 18" i think and it looks the mutts!

Really? I was sure they were 17s the same as the Ibiza and Polo GTi etc.

But yes still 5x100.

I thunk wrong :giggle:

Still whats the Offset on them? :wonder:

About ET 44 I think, but anything as low as 32 should be fine.

I went up to 18s on my Ibiza and no problems there.

This document My link contains all the recommended rim and tyre sizes which might help.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately im very new to all this and don't really understand the numbers, and the fact its in german doesn't help me :S

What would happen about the tyres, specifically what kind I would need for what size rim?

I appreciate all the info you guys are giving, thanks.

Work off what you have (there are calculators out there)

I have 16" alloys on my Vrs they are 6" wide - the tyer is 205/45/16

If i go to a 17" alloy i will need to lower the profile (if the alloy is 17" 6J) then its 205/40/17.

And if the wheel is silly like 17" x 7-8" wide then i would be looking 215/40.17

Fabia II I would imagine on a 17" wheel will use a 215/40 17

They have gone a bit wider than the Fabia I

Where you looking at talking to the Steeler for the Alloys or going to shop around?

I currently have 195/55 R15 on mine.

Sorry how are you working that out?

and also what do you mean the steeker? the dealer?

:S

If so then shop around I guess if I can find them cheaper

oh i get it. So I dont really want to go bigger than 215 as thats the tread to tread length, but not to sure on the /XX number still?

you have 195/55 15

the 195 = the width of the tread - This is dependant on the width of the wheel you go for)

the 55 = the % of the 195 is the sidwall (profile) so the Tyer wall is 55% of 195.

the 15 = the alloy size.

Ah ok

Thats brilliant Thank You :)

So drop the % by 5 for every inch added to the rim then.

Does the 195 need to remain the same so the speedo isn't affected?

Edited by NSRiddell

195 is the width.

You will find if your going to 16" you will more than likey go to a 205 tyre with a 45 profile, this is the spec of the MK1 vRS. Go up in width as the wheel will probably be a bit wider also.

I think I'm going to stick to 15" alloys to start with. Will swap to 16s or 17s just after christmas when I will have some extra cash. Saves me buying new tyres etc.

Thanks for all the info, wouldn't have known what was going on without it.

Can anyone suggest anywhere to get skoda's own alloys from? so that they look legitimate

Or even post any pictures of any you might suggest :)

Ha Ha was just looking at that! There worth a shot!

Just a quick question about tyres, is the speed/ load rating important? i.e am i likely to need to specify anything or will any tire thats dimensions are good going to be fine for load/ speed rating?

the fabia II has offset of 43 on the 15 (and I think the same or similar on the 16 inch wheels) but you'll hardly notice the difference if you go for a slightly smaller offset and make them stick out a few mm.

pcd is 5x100 so any wheels with 5 studs x 100 will fit. It's a matter of choosing what size and style.
