hi there, maybe someone could shed a little light on a fault i have with a 2003 1,9 fabia diesel. Intermittently its idle increases to approx 1000 rpm and will stay their sometimes for quite some time during a journey and other times just for a few seconds and then just to throw a spanner in the works it wont do it for days. I am actually an AA patrol but unfortunatly my diagnostics are limited and shows no errors !, i have changed air flow meter and throttle pedal (potentiomter ) but still the fault occurs. Its my mothers car and im going round the bend with it as she claims in 5th gear when fault occurs it will pull a steady 40 mph ( which for my mother is like breaking the sound barrier) but on a serious note she is breaking against the engine at times. help me someone. regards simon.
