Over Fueling Problem

Featured Replies

Right Okay Guys...

Popped the bonet as a bit of smoke was coming from under it.

The smoke was coming from the air filter.

Turned off the engine and took off the air filter top and then switched the engine back on.

Sitting on top of the (butterfly valve) :S

was fuel now i know a bit as im only an apprentice but isnt that the choke isnt going off and if so?

How do i sort this problem?

Thanks Folks Help ASAP :D

ok first off is it a felicia and is it single point injection.. if it is and you are saying you can see fuel ontop of the butterfly valve while its running that is fine as the large dome type bit above the butterfly is the fuel injector and it will be spraying fuel onto the butterfly..

if its fuel injection it does not have a choke as such just a ritcher mixture when cold..

So there will still be fuel on top of the valve (Under the air filter) when the engine is off?

yes there will be some residue on there, the 'smoke' coming out is probably oil coming out of the crankcase breather

Agh ritee

So the breather pipe just needs a good clean!

Cheers for clearing this up for me folks ;)

Well appreciated.

ANd this is also why you need some sort of a filter on there; they don't just filter the air, but also act as flame suppressors to prevent carb/throttle body fires.
