'02 Octavia Estate Rear Electric Window

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The passenger side rear electric window has stopped working. The relay at the multi plug is "clicking" when the switch is pushed, all connections are corrosion free, and have tested the motor separately and its working fine.

Has anybody come across this before?? What is the cure??

Thanks

Yogi

I have never heard of this problem on our cars but in my job I have come across relays that appear to operate (click) but the contacts don't make or are dirty/worn. Try taking out the relay and checking its contacts are actually opening and closing when the relay is operated. Poor connections on plug-in relays also do occur.

Its soldered into the door control block connection :( might just have to renew the lot.

I've had this happen on 2 occasions. Both times it was a broken wire in the rubber cover next to the hinges. Pull back the cover and squeeze the wires as you are operating the switch. If it now works investigate a little further in that area
