Octavia Indicator Keeps Ticking

Featured Replies

Hi All.

I'm new to this Forum so hoping someone might be able to answer this query. I operate a small taxi/private hire business and have 3 Octavias. All have been exceptionally reliable and economical. All have had the same problem from time to time and that's the indicator continues to tick behind the hazard switch even when not using indicators.

Previously we replaced the switch on the steering column which cured the problem but I don't understand what the hazard switch has to do with the indicators. Is there a relay behind the hazard switch which maybe should be replaced rather than the indicator switch. Obviously that would be the cheaper option. Alternatively is there any way to disable the "tick"

Any help appreciated.

Patrick.

The mk1's had issues with the hazard switches. Assuming yours is a mk1?

yup if its a mk1 change the switch

Hi all thanks for replies. Present Octavia is an 04 reg so I assume Mk1. Looks like I'll have to change the switch then.
