TSI 105 Caliper clearance for smaller wheels

Featured Replies

Thinking ahead, to when the weather deteriorates I retained my old steel rims off my Octavia 1 for winter tyres on my new Fabia. However, looking at the size of the disc and caliper and the clearance on the current 16" wheels I would be surprised if 15" rims would fit. I've not yet had opportunity to try them yet but you can buy the S spec car with the 15" rims with the TSI DSG set up. Presumably the brakes will be matched to the engine/box set up and not the spec?

Hi Fatbloke,

Think your Fabia II TSI will probably have the same engine code as the Yeti TSI; CBZB (on the data sticker in the service book and on the boot floor)

Then looking at the Skoda Germany rim/tyre list for the Fabia II against this engine code the following rim size for a 15" set up is given;

6J x15 H2 ET43

Tyre size options listed are;

185/55 R15 85H M+S

185/60 R15 84H

195/55 R15 85H

Hope that's of help,

TP

Thanks for that. I will still check fit the rims before I pay out for tyres. The 195/55-15 is the size on the Fabia II and there is good selection of winter tyres at good prices available in that size. There are some obscure brands but most are reviewed on the German auto websites so I'm expecting to find some decent tyres for a good price.

Hi again,

ran Nokian WR G2 on my Yeti last winter, worked well in all that rubbish weather we all had to deal with; would recommend them My link
