12 volt socket in boot

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if the new facelift octavia vrs hatch comes with a 12 volt power socket in the boot?

many thanks

Daz

Only the estate has the 12v in the boot.

There are a few threads on how to do a DIY install.

Many thanks.

I don't see why they would fit in the estate and not the hatch but hey ho.

thanks again

yes i can confirm that the facelift vrs estate has 12v socket in boot but strangely enough

the 12v sockets do not turn off when the ignition is turned off , as i found out when

the chap from skoda assistance had to jump start me. n.b excellent service from

skoda/vag assistance turned up within 45 mins in rushhour edinburgh traffic .

Good that they don't turn off. When you need to use i.e the halogen lamp from the 12v socket when your car is dead on the side of the road? Or charge my phone overnight while camping without leaving the car with ignition on ;)

I liked the way my old X-Type estate worked. The socket in the passenger compartment worked with the ignition, the one in the boot was permanently live so you could still charge things with the ignition off from the boot where it was easier to hide it away from prying eyes (especially as it had a "false floor")
