I couldnt say as I've not been in one, however the dampers and springs are different and geared more towards handling than the sport pack on the elegance

No it doesn't. If anything the 'sport pack' has a harder/firmer ride.

The reason primarily is that the the vRS has springs with a 10mm drop on standard, whereas the sport pack gives a 30mm drop. Essentially the sport springs are the same as eibach lowered springs.

The solution for Somermatt IMHO is to fit Koni FSDs as one of their specific design features is to give a (relatively) comfortable ride whilst retaining sporty handling/control when driving briskly. They have been used to good effect by quite a few vRS owners with eibach springs.

Switching to 16"wheels is not IMHO the solution as 17" wheels with 225/45 tyres are quite comfortable enough.

Don't think I've ever heard coilovers described as "comfortable" but this is interesting.........

Are AP coilovers really so ? onto 98K now on originals, so needing new ones soon !

Yes they really are and 90% of the time less crashy and stiff compared to OEM suspension but they offer bettering road handling. Most VAG cars from 2002 ish tend to be over sprung and under damped.
