Featured Replies

Hello people,

Outside Lane of the M6 by Carlisle and it died. Recovered home to portsmouth and went to local diesel specialist. Turbo given up exhaust impeller jamed but front on turns so shaft is broken. Its done 34K and has been serviced only by franchised dealers and is 2 months out of warranty. What are peoples thoughts ideas?

Talk to your dealer. Skoda may well do you a deal on the new turbo.

Speak to Skoda, they should probably offer you goodwill to a degree on that... possibly 100%. Just don't let ANYONE else mess with it before it's been to Skoda or you can void goodwill. They go on age out of warrenty, milage and dealer history. You have all these! Your cars well under the top end amount which is like well over 100k which is the cut off and your well within the age band. Just prove to them thefull dealer history and see what they can do. I gather it's worked out on a sliding scale. I believe each dealership can decide what they offer to a degree. Good tip here, speak to Skoda UK first, they have alot of say with the dealer. Then take it the dealer. Don't let the "specialist" do a thing on that car or Skoda can happily tell you ya own ya own and DO, even if they found the evidence that the filters in the car are non genuine. Don't tell them it's been anywhere else! Goodwill is usually offered on the basis that your a good customer who goes nowhere else. A friend was in a similar situation and this saved him ALOT of money after the dealer told him he was on his own at first.
