Intermittent starting problems

Featured Replies

Hi All

My wife's felly has had problems starting! Thursday it wouldn't start although the starter motor is going it wouldn't come to life. After an hour it was fine, I thought she'd flooded it. Same thing happened the next day. Could it be a fuel blockage?

TIA

First question - is it PETROL OR DIESEL .

going by his previous posts it will be a 1.6 petrol engine..

first thing to do is pull the centre lead off the distributor cap and place it near a metalic part of the engine, when you crank the engine you should be able to see a spark jumping the gap and grounding itself onto the metal part it's near. 9 out of 10 non-starters are ignition related

have a go at that and report back
