Hi,

I've just purchased a 2004 model Octavia hatchback from my father-in-law. Just prior to selling it to us the CD changer stopped working.

When you press the CD button on the stereo, nothing happens. When you try to eject on the unit, nothing happens.

I suspect there is no power going to the CD unit and that's the problem but can't work out how to trace the wiring back. Everything looks fine with the visible wiring in the boots.

Any ideas/help/suggestions?

Have you checked the connector under the cd changer as this can sometimes corrode if the rear washer has ever leaked.

(Check the rear window wash works).

Also check the connection at the back of the head unit to make sure that is on properly.
