Help need advice on servicing my Skoda

Ive just bought my first ever car, Skoda Fabia1.4 8v.

When I bought it the service indicator light was on. The person i bought it from said he had been sevicing it himself , so no service history ( altho I have all mot's and other repair receipts from past) and I could just take it to a garge to get the service light off.

I have no expereince of cars before or servicing but thinking I want to get it serviced to start my own service history.

So could anyone please recommend a place to get my car serviced without being ripped off . I havent got lots of money to spare. I live in NW London . The cheapest I have been quoted Â£200 before any parts or anything changed or added. Is that the going rate?

Adding this for anyone that comes across the same issue. Noticed a slightly extended crank a day or so ago, along with a few seconds worth of poor idle and then ran as normal. Checked for codes, and none showing. Checked plugs when I got home again and all ok. Checked the lpfp count and was at or around 50% at idle. No hesitation or misfires and none detected on scanner. Rail holding pressure within parameters and both lpfp and hpfp showing requested and actual pressures where they should b

First time starting a project thread, bear with me... Heard about this Roomster not too far from me that might be heading for a scrapyard, and decided to try to acquire it. Is the skoda scala slave cylinder concentric and located inside the gearbox for all models, or is it just the 1.5 engine which doesn't have it on the outside of hte gearbox? I'm seeing different reports about whether the gearbox needs to be removed to check or replace it on a 1.0 litre engine.
