Ride height Lowering Vrs PD

Featured Replies

Hi All,

What's the best options for lowering the Octy but i don't want it scraping the floor.

25~30mm and not back breaking

In the past eibach's used to be best compromise.

What tool do i need to get shocker out of hub?

Eibach are still the best options I would say and give a nice 20/25mm drop on a vRS

is 4 wheel alignment req'd after drop?

Yep. But leave the alignment for a couple of weeks to let the car settle down.

I have the eibachs. Nice drop and nice ride. Great for the money. Front shocks are a pain to get out. You can get a tool that spreads the hub apart. Vag part number 3424.

eibachs are my preferred since they black and ride is not solid.

i've changed springs before and no they are a pain

Im using FK High-Tec shocks and springs and they are very comfortable.

Add KONI FSDs for the perfect ride/handling compromise.

Still don't get the point in these. The ride on my AP coilovers is fine and I can of course alter the ride height at will. Several people in here have had problems wth FSDs over time and several people on here have switched from FSDs to coilovers and not looked back. It's not even like they're cheaper.

ride is same......i have noticed back end does not drop so much under acceleration

it's still settling down. It may take a few more miles yet.

Looks good mate. Interested to know what the thoughts are regards the spacers on the rear. How many people have fitted them and do the rear wheels sit to far in as standard?

makes it look so much better. Std wheels always have strange offset and look lost when ride height is changed.

I havn't had chance to test out handling improvements yet

Why? Are the rear wheels set that far in to make a difference with 15mm?

i think it's the width of the body. I'll take a pic later looking at wheels from rear of car.

doddle to fit - have to lose the cover that sits in centre of hub.

20 mins - literally wheel off. spacer on wheel back on.

pic of new wheel position attached - turn your head to side ......

Looks good, think that has convinced me. Did he send the correct 5 x 112 fitment and bolts without asking specifically ? Also are your wheels an tyres 225/40/18?
