Wondered if anyone can help with this one...

I have a 2002 Fabia Estate 1.9TDi.

The wheels on it are from my previous car - a 2000 Fabia Hatchback 1.4 8v petrol model - and so are narrower than the car was designed to have. (I'd just put the old car through a whopping service with 4 new tyres, and traded her in 6 weeks later and thought I'd switch the wheels over, not realising they are different widths... doh)

My question is, what is the correct wheel size for my current car? And is it worth switching the narrow wheels for the wider ones? Might help a bit with the cornering...

From the Fabia Combi Technical information circa 2001 it depends on trim level as well as engine:

Wheels

Classic 5J x 14"

Comfort & Elegance 6J x 14" (6J x 15" with the 2.0/85 kW engine)

Tyres

Classic 165/70 R14

Comfort & Elegance 185/60 R14 (195/50 /R15 with the 2.0/85 kW)

Thanks Skomaz. Mine's a 1.9TDi Comfort trim, so I'm not sure whether the 6J x 14" or the 6J x 15" applies? My plan is to go to a vehicle dismantlers near us in the hope of picking up a set of the correct size wheels on the cheap... I'm hoping she'll handle a bit better afterwards.

6J14 and 185 60 R14 is the one for you - the 6j15 was for the 2.0 Petrol version.
