I was lead to believe that you could program them?

Car is a 54 plate tdi.

Also called an auto eletrition about getting an after market remote locking package & he said dealer only cause of the cars electrics?

Anyone shed some light?

I bought a aftermarket remote upgrade for my 2007 (Jan) Octavia 1.9tdi Classic from an ebay supplier, which is fitted with central lock, but not remote.

Local auto electrican in Jersey (highly repected appantly) said it is not possible due to the car having CAN bus electrics, the upgrade is not CAN compaptable!

Found this supplier who says it is possible, web site below;

Going by what the guy at skoda told me, no i dont. I just thought i could get a key coded end of, not looking like the case.

afaik you need some further replacement parts apart from the key, namely some kind of control unit.....but don't ask me which exacly.

I own a Classic Pre-FL as well at got myself this one: Second from bottom - works like a dream, although not having the flashy flipkey, which I don't mind. But I am pretty sure one can shoehorn the insides of one of the green handles into a flipkey.... costs where about 120 Pounds plus 30 Pounds fitment....
