YETI

Just traded in the Octy 130 L & K for an ex-demo Yeti 140 Elegance. Had test drive in Scout & Yeti, no contest, more front room in the snow monster, I found the centre console of the Scout too cramped. Just getting to grips with all the hi-tech (for us oldies anyway) mfd, bluetooth, radio etc. But what a machine. Beautifully put together as usual, very versatile seats, if a bit on the heavy side to remove. Boot space useful but will have to learn to load it in a different way to the Octy estate. Only 1200 miles so far, consumption not great for an oil-burner, but expect it to improve as things loosen up.

Tyres are Dunlops, not had too good experience with them hoped they were Contis which are better. Any one any ideas which boots are best for road use & occasional trips into the woods for rallies?

Will post more info as the miles clock up.

Cheers the noo.

Welcome to the club.

Mine is shod with the Conti's, and they are just fine on the rotad, but not really suitable for off-road work, as there are really no block pattern to the thread. I also expect to replace the rather soon - expected wear life of around 25000 km.

I am not sure what to replace them with, but I am leaning toward something a little more off-road oriented. The Plumber is suggesting a Nokian e- something or other, which is an all season type.

Mr P,

Does the 4 season tyres suggest that we dont have to change to winter tyres if we have these on ??

Hi,

sort of yes; for the majority of the UK anyway.

With the Goodyear 4 Season tyre they have the full winter snowflake symbol, therefore should be able to cope with occasionally snowy conditions. Not sure with the Nokians as they are a new tyre and information is still a little sketchy but Nokian are a leading winter tyre specialist.

Regards,

TP
