Water Ingress. AGAIN

Featured Replies

Already suffered this last year and fixed it, but it happened again. I had'nt been using the car much and with all rain the plenum chamber filled up so much the water got in over the pollen filter, i should've known coz i lost the interior lights again, steering wheel buttons and dashboard digital display, so cleared the gromets and nearly washed the children playing away, secondly lifted the front passenger footwell carpet rejoined wires, then lifted the rear passenger footwell carpet and rejoined them wires plus found another broken termial and bingo everything working. Took about 2hrs, I'am not bragging but this is very easy to do. I'll help anybody to do this.

The trick is to remove the grommets completely, this way they can never block up again - which they will do!

Make sure the pollen filter housing is also sealed up fully, either with the modified replacement seal cord or ideally a nice thick bead of silicone. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I should've done but bone idol springs to mind....the water was that deep it came over the top and through the filter, my silicone repair worked fine. Don't worry the grommets are gone now.
