rSAP and Blackberry Mobiles

Featured Replies

Hi

I have read various discussions about blackberry incompatibility / compatibility with the rSAP when syncing to the factory fitted bluetooth option. The dealer told me that Blackberrys in general are not supported, but some seem to have had some success. I have the Blackberry 9520 Storm 2 mobile, and have tried the suggestions of setting the phone to Listen then serching for devices on the car. The car finds my phone straight away, but then does not offer the 16 digit pin that the phone is requesting, and eventually tells me the phone is not compatible.

Does anybody know if I should just give up, or has anyone had any success with this handset? The phone does not seem to have any tick box for enabling rSAP / SAP anywhere in it's options.

Thanks for any help.

Dave....I had a problem with my BB 9800. It hooked straight away on first use and for a day or two after that. Then the two would not talk to eachother. However I had the sam message "not compatible" BUT i did notice that the bluetooth icon was brightly lit on the 9800. On checking status on the BB9800 it showed that the bluetooth was in fact connected and that on the car it showed nothing.

i resolved the problem by locking the car and going in the house so that the bluetooth connection would disconnect. I then cleaned the memory on the BB and then removed the battery and sim and memory card. I then reinserted memory card followed by the sim card and then the battery. The BB then boots again.

I then went out to the car and started engine BUT not drive away. Message came up on the columbus as system starting....nxt came a message that it was connecting to BB9800 and since then the system has worked fine. It is worth noting that the BB and rSAP takes a minute or two to connect unlike my sons Nokia N8 which is almost instant.

Hope this helps :)

Similar story about the 9800 Torch - It works sometimes, and others just refuses to connect, but unlike Mark, it's almost instant, like the Nokia's.

I'll be changing the BT unit to a rSAP and HFP unit soon.

Hi

I have a BB 8310 (yes i know its an old'n)

and a superb MY11(got it 23/12) with columbus and V7 maps and it synced first time and has not had a problem in the last month and i use it all day as iam a rep

now i dont think its using rsap as it says skoda_bt on the phone but it has downloaded all 1500 contacts into both the MFD and the Columbus and all the voice function work spot on it even displays battery signal strength and network

all i did was get in the car from new went to phone set up on mfd searched for phones which then asked for the 16 digit password and then just follwed rest of instrutions and all has been well since

hope this helps

well its reality that general blackberry mobile sets does not support the Bluetooth but The model which i am using is Blackberry 8900 so bluetooth is working properly in it and it is also good for the business purposes so i will prefer you to buy it for the best results

i have a blackberry 8250, i also connected for 3 days then was unable to.

I reloaded a new software update and deleted the car then repaired and works again.

Think i will be upgrading as in other topics
