Which front brake discs?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to change my front brake discs, which by the way are the originals fitted when the car was new and have done brilliantly well, but the time has come...

I've looked on eurocarparts and found two Pagid discs for my Fabia that are slightly different sizes and different engine codes. One is for engine code 1LQ, 1LR and the other is for 1LN, 1LP. I'm not sure what mine is to be honest, anybody know where I can find this info? The manual seems a bit sparse on this info.

Thanks

Hi,

the engine code can be found on the data sticker in the front of the service book or the boot floor. Also have a look at the engine no. on your V5c.

Another option is to look for a sticker or plate similar to the following;

the four letters top right CBDB is the engine code for this vehicle.

Hope that's of some help,

TP

Many thanks for your help. I'll have a good root around first light tomorrow :)

I've also got this problem. Just about to replace the discs and pads on my wife's recently acquired 59 reg 1.4tdi Greenline (which are in a right old state) and am a bit confused by which I need. Going by the advice above, my engine code is BMS - but that doesn't tally with the 1LQ, 1LR etc gubbins as mentioned previously, so how does it help? Forgive my ignorance. I'm new to Skodas so it's a steep learning curve. Enjoying reading lots of interesting posts though  :nerd:

This afternoon I took a wheel off and did some measuring, which seemed to match the 1LQ, 1LR discs on the Eurocarparts site - but I'm a cautious type and it wasn't an exact science without taking the discs off, so ...... I also noted that the pads were Galfer 4595s and the caliper had FS III on it. The front face of the disc also had 206 on it. Does any of this mean anything to anyone?

All assistance greatly appreciated  :)
