The correct procedure is to turn the key to position 2 (so that all the warning lights come on - but car doesn't start) and then immediately depress the trip reset button (in the instrument binnacle) for about 2 to 3 seconds. Then the days / miles to next service will show alternately. Take the key out to go back to normal (trip miles are NOT lost).
