New petrol 09 octavia VRS estate owner

Featured Replies

Hi all just wanted to introduce myself as a new Skoda owner. I have just bought a 09 plate petrol octavia VRS estate (pre facelift but TSI engine) after looking at a number of VAG cars.

My previous car was a 04 plate leon cupra which was heavily modified and the octy will soon start to be mucked about with :). Been a member on cupra.net for a long time and also on the golfmkivs.

Bought the car damaged as been brought up in the motor trade and over the last few years repaired a lot of VAG cars so know my way about them pretty well (always plenty to learn though :)).

Car wont be ready for a little while as got so source parts (passenger wing, bonnet, front bumper headlights and no doubt a few other bits) but will be ready as soon as i can.

Hope i can be a decent source of info to a few people and know that i will pick up a lot from everyone on here and heard a lot of good things about this site. Be good to find out if there is anyone about the swansea area who is on here also?

Just wanted to ask a quick question on here while im introducing as will be first on the list is which suspension to go for on my estate (had FSD's with Eibach pro springs on the leon and was happy with the ride). Is the rear suspension setup the same on the mk5/6 golf gti as the octavia estate?

Dont worry i wont ask any more questions in here and know to use the search just wanted to get the ball rolling :)

Cheers all
