Dealer Settings

Is there a comprehensive list anywhere of the things that the Dealer/Vag Com can set/unset - I have looked but couldn't find one.

My Octavia 1.6 TDI Elegance is in for it's first service shortly and as a trip to the dealer is inconvenient, I'd like to get a couple of things sorted

Is it possible to get all doors to unlock for a single press of the remote - the two presses for all doors is b***dy inconsistent and irritating

Can the dealer turn DRL's/Cornering lights on, and are the two mutually exclusive ?

any other little easter eggs I might not know about ?

SWMBO gets annoyed that it takes me some time to open the passenger doors. But the extra security is worth it. My SIL was robbed by a tea leaf lurking by her back door when on her own.

Auto door locking is worthwhile to minimise traffic light robberies; but maybe security is not so important for you?

DRL turn on can be done in several ways and plenty of previous discussion threads on the forum.

Turning the irritating seatbelt buzzer off (A friend of mine did this on VAGcom, after I was told by a dealer that it was impossible). If it binged at you after the engine had started or as soon as you started moving it would be fine, but continuous beeping while waiting for the gloplug light to turn off before starting is a tad excessive I think - especially when it covers over things like to low fuel warning beep.

You could just put your seat belt on... ;) My seat belt bong doesn't bong until the car starts moving anyway.

I agree, my seat belt reminder is pretty innocuous and only bonged when I drove beltless around a camp site at low speed.

DRLs are (as the name suggests) only for daytime use and cornering lights are for when it's dark so both can be enabled.

On my 05 Octavia I had auto lock enabled, single press for unlock all doors, remove seat belt bong (Mine sounded after starting the engine and before moving off!), discrete blip on locking car, correct the MPG calculation, courtesy headlights (If you have the rain/light sensors) B)

Think you could also enable flashing brake lights for heavy breaking.

You can go crazy..how about the number of milliseconds the headlight washers pop out for!

What do you mean by 'correct the MPG Calculation'?

Same with mine, it came from the dealers like that :smirk:

My trip computer was over reading by about 20%.

So if it said I was doing 64mpg I was actually doing 54mpg.

There is a setting in the software where you can enter a correction factor calculated as (Displayed MPG / Actual MPG ) *100.

Mine came out as 118 but the max you can enter is 115. Got me to within 1mpg

Don't know why they vary so much. I have a Touran which is only 0.5mpg out!

I had it done when I got my remap. Main dealer said I would have to spend £500 on a new instrument cluster if I wanted it fixed
