Was amazed at the cost for a sound proofing kit. (Even a half sheet is £50 from Soundkiller.)

Several people have mentioned that just adding soundproofing under the rear seat made a difference.

What product did you use and how much?

the best and cheapest product i have found is the stereo volume, makes even the roughest of roads seem quite lol.

Between those two, you'll have enough to do 5 cars right over at a fraction of the cost.

2 tolls of dynamat extreme to cover the spare wheel well, some of the boot floor and some of the box area under the seat.

Then covered with 9mm cloud 9 carpet underlay.

Works a treat.

No, the flashing tape is only adhesive on one side, so stick that directly to large, flat metal surfaces. Don't cover fixings, screws, bolts etc. as once it's on, it doesn't easily come off!

Many people recommend two layers as it is a bit thinner than dynamat etc., but then it's a lot less than half price so still good value.

The underlay you can just cut to shape and lie loose, velcro etc. You'd generally be laying it in areas where it's held in by something (seat bench, under carpet etc.) so not a big problem

Genuine Skoda rubber boot mat quietened down mine massively, oh and some decent tyres.
