Just bought a U281 Diagnostic Fault Code Reader

Featured Replies

Just got one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300403718678&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT and must say I am pleasantly surprised. It picked up the code from my old dodgy MAF and also a 17963 warning (which I wasn't expected) which I think was linked to the MAF. I erased the codes and gave the car a damned good thrashing, checked the codes and they have not re-appeared. Think this will be a very useful tool just to check the car every few weeks to make sure there are no new codes.

Result  I try and scan mine regularly too, picked up a 17544 and 17705 recently which is a leaking vac hose, I wouldn't have known about it otherwise, no lights on the dash.

I have a U380 which I keep in the car - not as capable as a full version of VAG-COM obviously, but very handy to check for problems just before the car goes in for service or whatever. Has definitely been used in anger more times than my freeware VAG-COM...

Same one I've got and it's been really useful. Saves the £75 stealers fee every time the EML pops its cork :D

Ive just bought one but it cannot link to the car? It completes a scan then comes back as no link! It is plugged in properly and also does the same with my wifes 08' Fabia. Any ideas as to why it is not working?
