another Ford crossover?

Featured Replies

Could this mean the crossover will replace the hatchback in a few years as the people's choice?

That was Nissans reasoning a few years ago which is why the Almera wasn't replaced with another hatchback in the UK and we got the Qashqai. They have also just launched the little Juke crossover although the Micra continues. Having said that, they intend to re-enter the market with an Almera sized hatchback in the future.

Seems like small crossovers are the flavour of the month. Almost every week I read about a new entry. Maybe Skoda should follow suit and create a Fabia based crossover to rival this new Fiesta thingy and the Nissan Juke. Can't see it happening though because VW would have to create a bespoke small four wheel drive platform...or maybe not because the chassis components are more modular these days. It is all good news if you ask me because I like the combination of SUV driving position and hatchback dynamics.

I thought the Fusion was the Fiesta on steriods - that's how I used to describe mine.

Others called it a Fiesta estate, (some were less polite) but it was taller rather than longer, which is why I liked it - easy to get in and out of.

The single clutch AMT "automatic" gearbox was not in the same league as a DSG.

I hope Ford have got their version of the dual clutch gbox sorted if anyone is going to but an automatic version. The AMT could be a nightmare of indecision negotiating roundabouts.

I've just been watching Honest John's video review of the Mini Countryman. He says it's main rivals being the Nissan Juke and Skoda Yeti. I can see these selling well as people will follow badges.

Not to my taste
