Is the Seat strut brace manufactured by momo?

Featured Replies

It's all in the title really, but I'd quite like to see pics of different variants of strut brace.

What's the difference between the two (if there are two...) Price??

Mine is a one piece brace fixed using two top mount bolts on each side...

Is it the momo one or a different type?

Thanks

Garry

yeah

yeah

Good Answer...................

Dude there are 2 i know of.

- Seat sport part that comes in a box marked MOMO, the one you have

- the forge one, is in 2 bit (ajustable?) dont see how that works but it uses all the top mount bolts.

And just to P*SS me off even more its another part that SEAT have increased the price by about £10000000000 so its not a £30 mod anymore

Yeah me too, I never had a box for mine as it was second hand.

Does the part have any momo branding actually on it? I think they missed a trick if they don't.

Aren't they red when new? mine was painted silver over the red by its previous owner..

So you've only seen the two variants... hmmm Perhaps there are only two. :wonder:

Yea iv only ever seen 2.

Naa i borroed my m8s the other week to see the difference, and no branding on the bar itself.

And yep come in red. I want one in green :) dont wanna sell yours do you? :giggle:

I have an adjustable MOMO branded one:

Whats so Ajustable?

How much pressure you want to use to break the top mounts with I think.

I thought so... thanks mort,

I presume you can increase/decrease the rigidity by those two

adjusting nuts. Or is it to make changing the air filter easier?

It just extends/shortens the length of the bar, so tries to push the mounts further apart, or pull them further together. Considering it's just the bolts it pushes on I'm not sure if this is good or bad for the car TBH?

Definitely DOES NOT make it easy to get the the filter. I can just about get a Green cotton filter out with the bar on. It's been a while since I've had a paper one in, but I'm not sure if it'd be possible to change one without taking the bar off?

Yes.

But then again, mine was only £50 back when I got it ;)

why how much r they both nowadays then?

Think the SEAT one was between £40-50 inc VAT back in 2007. Not sure about now. SEAT seem to have priced up a lot of the bits that fit to a Fabia now.

No idea of current prices.

Mine was 2nd hand £20,

plus Sandblast and Powdercoat £25

plus vRS motorsport sticker £3ish to tart it up a bit in the absence

of any momo branding... So all in for me under 50 quid.

IIRC it is approx £60 plus the VAT :dull:

I have one in green ready to go on the car, but I need to upset a few members and make it red before it graces the SE B)

Is the Seat one same as the OMP one? iirc mine is the OMP one... :wonder:
