Tyre Pressure

Featured Replies

I was running about 36psi front and 34psi rear but recently I actually read the manufacturers guidlines and now have 2.0bar front and 2.1bar rear......which feels a bit soft if I'm honest, especially when pressing on.

What is everyone else running?

Tyres are 225 40 18 Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's

2.1 rear (the recommendation) and 2.2 front (on conti sport contact 3's).

My view is that not too hard for rear (pasenger comfort, enough rubber on the tarmac for efficient breaking), but harder at front (better handling when turning, better ability of low profile tyres to resist a pot hole without the alloy being dented). But everyone's ideas will be different :)

I'll give 2.2 a try up front and see how I get on, cheers

There was much debate about tyre pressures for the vRS a couple of years ago; try a search.

However, I run Ultrac Sessantas as well and use 2.35 bar front and rear in the summer and slightly softer at 2.3 bar in winter.

Ride does not particularly suffer for these higher (than OE recommended) pressures but turn-in and general grip is noticeably better. don't be tempted to go any higher though.
