Changing alternative speed display kph-mph

Featured Replies

Playing around with the maxidot on the new car, managed to change the door mirror adjustment and the door opening options. Went to change the alternative speed display from KPH to MPH and the option to do this had disappeared from the Setup Menu. It was definitely there on the Setup Menu when I started. Anyone have any ideas what happened to it and how to get it back.

I believe you cant change it

It must be set to KPH because the speedo is in MPH

The option to change it was in the setup menu when I started. It was under Alt. Speed Dis. between Assistants and Service Interval on the menu. Now Alt. Speed Disp. has disappeared completely from the menu.

I dont have that in my display either

Someone told me it was only there for the first 100 miles (kilometers?) and then disappeared. Not sure why that would be the case.

Hmm. That's given me an idea.

I dont think anyone on here has found a way yet. The EU requirement is that all cars sold in the UK have a KMH and MPH display, because the speedo shows MPH only there must be a KMH readout on fulltime display, skoda chose to use the LCD/Maxidot display for this purpose.

If you drive an EU car then it is possible to alter the display in the menus between MPH and KMH, since to visit the UK you must know what speed you are doing in MPH.

The ALT. Speed dist. setting simply adjusts the units the trip computer uses between Litres per 100KM and MPG.

Was the idea that the 'personality' of the cluster was fixed at the same time as the mileage? That all I could think of.

Not necessarily with the mileage.. need a car to have a play with.
