Picked up today

Featured Replies

Picked up my FL vRS today.

Its a CR TDi DSG, extras being Rear Park Sensors and Spare wheel. I find the base spec ticks most boxes.

Traded in my 58 CR TDi DSG.

So far I love the new stereo and paddleshifters, and the Maxidot is a welcome addition, very nice interface.

Not sure about the elephant ear sized wing mirrors yet but im sure theyll blend in soon.

Everything just feels nice in this new car. Gearshifter feels smoother, engine sounds nicer (dont know why?!).

Pretty happy for now. There was an issue coding some features so they have to check this on Monday hope its not a big problem. Otherwise chuffed!

Sorry for the poor pics:removed some pics til i can find out a good way to smudge the numberplate!

Missing the blue paint a bit soon as i got it home you can see loads of dead flies on the front :(

but yeah it looks smart in white :)

Looks very nice in white, although mine is black , but everybody is different. Personally i think they look pretty damned good in all the colours altho for me Black ,anthracite and red are my faves,

Just enjoy, my wife says i havent stopped smiling since i picked mine up yesterday. :):):thumbup:

i keep thinking about black wheels and privacy glass but cant justify the money... :/

its nice as it is really...could be nicer, but its just aesthetics..same reason i went for standard interior too rather than leather.

maybe when Im older, richer :)

Weird how several member on here have gone from Race Blue to Candy White. Me too!

Also in a dilemma about having the wheels painted in gloss black. It looks stunning. Hmm

Would'nt imagine its too expensive having the wheels done.

Looks great, mine is being delivered to the house tomorrow morning....doubt I will sleep !

Its all relative though. I figure wheels refin and privacy glass would be around £300 and thats a decent wedge towards a ski trip for instance.

Its good value, just dont know think aesthetic upgrades are top of my spends list at the moment

Thanks and fixed! :)

nice car, loving my one

yup, it is a big wedge of cash to be spending when you've just bought a new car. The wheels will be a chrimbo present for me so wont be getting them for a month or two. I was going to spend the money on a spoiler but theyve discontinued them for the estate :( Matt anthracite will be my weapon of choice at the moment for the wheels :)

Looks great

I hope all you new owners get a better welcome than I have just received. After 5 months of waiting from ordering to delivery my new Octavia vRS DSG CR TDI, which, I picked up on 1st September (after a 200 mile train journey), it has greeted me with a serious oil leak from the rear upper part of the engine after only 250 miles on the clock. Skoda assist (RAC breakdown) could not exactly diagnose the source of the leak because of inaccessibility, but it looks to be coming from the cylinder head area (nice one eh?). Besides the mechanical implications the entire underside of the car is now smothered in engine oil and is residing in my local skoda dealer waiting to be looked at (hopefully today). Not a good advert for this car at all!

Has anyone else suffered like this?

It's a nightmare on a white car, the GF has a white A3 convertible and I have a black VRS, hand on heart I still can’t decide which is worse to keep. To remove the blood splats I use Mr. Muscle window cleaner (as it has vinegar in it) which gets them off with a gently wipe. Also the tar spots off the road can be annoying after a while but white spirit and a good wax sorted that out (and turns the car back into bright white as white dulls over time).

Enjoy the car

Edit - No sure if your using your SD Slot, but I brought this to max mine out and it works a treat with no delay etc - Integral 32GB SD Card (SDHC) - Class 4
