2006 vrs heated mirrors

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone tell me why my heated mirrors dont work!?

Thanks

Maybe a silly question but is the switch in the right position as in facing forward ?

And does it not need to be freezing outside?

As already said, make sure the mirror switch is in the "heated" position, and you could also try putting on the rear screen demister. Also check the relevant fuse and full operation of the mirror mechanism. May also be worth running a VCDS scan if you have access to it to see if any problem has registered. Mine did show up that way once!

In theory it should warm enough to clear the morning condensation as well as ice.

The heating element is bonded onto the back of the mirror and with repeated use, they do seem to "de-laminate", thus stopping working. My 06 vRS is on it's second set! I'm afraid that genuine mirrors aren't cheap if broken. So a previous owner may have replaced it with a none heated one, or worse still stuck a cheap aftermarket mirror over the top! We found this little bodge on the Mother-in-Laws Astra!

might be wrong but i'm sure in the manual it says that they will only operate if the outside temp is 12 degress or below, hth
