Grinding/metalic rubbing noise

Could it be clutch?

No slip, car pulls fine etc but I occasionally get a noise which sounds like grinding metal when pulling away either when engaging first or pulling away in second with clutch already engaged.

Release bearing makes a slight noise when releasing clutch in neutral but it has been like that for a fair while.

86k 53 plate VRS.

Any ideas?

Edit - After google I guestimate it could be thrust bearing or diff
