My new 105 TSI DSG hopefully arrives this week and then I am off to La Belle France. I have ordered Projector lights and see in the handbook that there is a "Tourist Mode" which alters the beam. Does anyone have any experience of these and can advise whether I will also need beam deflectors. To be honest I have taken a chance with these but as I do a lot of country lane driving I thought I would give them a go

I believe the Tourist lights are only available on curve projector lights, i think there is a mention on another thread.

Thanks for that , I have searched other posts which make reference to configuring the "tourist mode" with the Maxidot display but the Fabia seems to be different to other models.

On page 49 of the handbook it describes the procedure where you select Reverse and adjust the Beam height switch which then disables the side to side swivel of the headlights but it also says on page 150 that a bezel needs to be switched over by a dealer. Has anyone experience of this and can I do it myself. I am going to France on Thursday and cant get to my dealer before then so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

My dealer has contacted Skoda Technical and been advised that disabling the Curve function also removes the left hand kickup in the beam pattern so makes it OK for use in France. I am not convinced as against my garage door the kick up looks unchanged after Tourist mode is selected. I havent had chance to try it yet but will report back when I return from France.

Incidentally I tried Skoda Customer Service who didnt know what a Curve Projector headlight was and advised that I should fit beam alignment stickers! Has anyone ever received a helpful reply from them - thank goodness for Briskoda.
