hi folks, is there any half decent hand-held diagnostics tools that anybody can recommend?

after one that will do some of the more advanced stuff like measuring blocks, basic settings & adaption etc rather than just a 'dumb' reader that will only read and clear fault codes, i don't mind paying the right sort of price for it too, it's just that i don't like carrying my laptop round with me all the time and in the few times i've needed is desperately the batteries are always flat, most of the hand held units are powered by the diagnostics connection

thanks for that link, i did have a quick look at that page before, none of those units appear to have the capabilities i'm looking for sadly.
