VRS 170 PD TDI Not Starting (Sometimes)

Featured Replies

I hope someone can help me.

Octavia VRS 170 PD TDI 80 K would not start . I had to crank for 30 secs and then it started.

Ran OK for the rest of the day.

Heater plug light is working . Started on the button for two days after that.

Fuel lift pump possibly I was thinking ?

Any other bright ideas ?

Many thanks

Had this at 80,000 odd on a 170 PD, turns out it was a blocked fuel filter. Intermittently taking longer to start, car was left for 2 weeks and then it took 20-30 secs to start. Apparently it'd only ever had one new filter according to the schedule and is always run on BP Ult...

New filter cured and it has started first turn since - 110k.
