Featured Replies

I have the chance of a front setup from a porsche 928  BUT..............will they fit?

If not, does anyone know what ones will? :D

Ta folks ;)

Just fit some 312s and stop trying to be difficult ;)

Anything will fit... with some modification :D

 just the answer i was looking for ;)

"squeezed" a CDA under the bonnet couple of days ago, so why break the tradition of being difficult ;) :p :D

Looking to get some carriers made up  i know a CRACKING engineer, gonna find out tomorrow if he can/has time to do it :D

Did you see my post / 'how to' on the 986 4-pot calipers?

Worth a thought as, even if you can get those 928 calipers cheap, I think the discs and pads may get pricey; these use our very same 312mm discs

Other options in the Porsche camp are 996 rears on the front but that's not my area of expertise (in fact, not much is :giggle: )

I don't know - glutton for punishment! :p

Have seen Boxster/Caymen setups used too. But as you rightly point out, it's the mounting points/location that need thought, about how you're actually going to mount them. Plus thinking about the brake line location etc.

On the CDA - you're not convinced that a decent panel filter is a more suitable alternative then?? :smirk:;)

Cheers,

Yeah, i've been puzzling over this tbh. Spoke to an engineer and he's going to get back to me about the carriers and set up  Could be interesting ;)

In regards to the "induction" issue................i've ran a panel filter, induction kit, closed induction kit and a CDA

All i can deduce is that the panel filter doesnt REALLY do much, induction kits etc give a "throaty" noise and better throttle response, closed induction kit/CDA better air feed, less heat soak, better throttle and again a different engine note

In effect your replacing the airbox with another airbox with an induction kit crammed into it :D

besides, got the CDA for helping out another member with some bits and bobs and an "alterenative" solution on his car ;):D

Mad professor comes to mind................................
