COLUMBUS SAT NAV 3T0 HELP

Featured Replies

just fitted a columbus navigation unit 3t0 latest one but the stearing wheel controls wont work nor will the reversing sensors or fans controlls will come up on the screen,

do i need the cambus re programed. i thought this was a plug an play version?

its gone into a 2007 LK octy

You should have it coded anyway but that wont fix the issues you have at the moment.

Your car is a 2007? So you cant have parking sensors or climate controls displayed on the screen (unless you fit extra parts)

Steering controls will require modified firmware to fix this. There is a good thread on here detailing what you need to download and modiify.

The 3T0 does not work with the Octavia correctly, as mentioned by the previous poster it is designed to work with the Superb MK2, the correct unit for an Octavia starts 1Z0.

The hint is in the part number, the Octavia MK2 is known to Skoda as the Octavia 1Z, and the Superb MK2 is known as the 3T.

Whilst the basic functions work fine, things like steering wheel controls, and other external canbus controlled devices will not work. This is because its talking to the car using a different protocol over the canbus which the Octavia does not understand.

The right HU for the FL Octavia is the 3T0 - Just in case anyone with a FL is reading this

Thanks, I was sh*tting it there. I thought that I had done lots of home work on the Columbus before I ordered one, but I had no idea about the Octy issues above!

The unit I have ordered is

Part no: 3TO 035 680 A (LED/Version C)

Hw:H06

SW:2724

Actually I'm still abit worried. So everything is gonna work on my MY2011 FL? Heating, parking, steering?!?!? :S

Great news, thanks! :)

Only thing that doesn't work straight off is maxidot but i don't particularly want that anyway - if you do it is just a simple tick box to activate the nav if you know someone with VCDS ;)

I thought one of the best things about the Columbus is its integration into Maxidot, not to have it for the sake of 2 mins coding is a sacralidge!! I've got my 3TO all installed with MDI and the voice control and the Rsap telephone system voice control all working perfectly, Thanks to Ben at Shark Performance. get the Maxidot coding done, you will find it very useful, especially the Nav directions.

I will get it coded when i bump into someone with a lead. Can't get the voice control as i haven't got the balls to update the firmware. I might sometime along the line sell it and but an updated one!

Not bothered about the maxidot. Had it on the Bora and never used it as i prefer to see the real time MPG ;)
