vRS Rear Badges

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I want to return the standard vRS and Fabia badge to the boot of my car, so was wondering if someone could measure up/provide a diagram of the exact location of the badge ie. how spaced out the letters need to be, how low on the boot, how far across they need to be.

Alternatively, does anyone know if I took it in to Skoda, if they would put the badges on in the correct place?

Cheers

not a great pic but you can get the idea of spacing etc.

Have you got the badges to put on ??

I bought two rear boot sets as they come with the VRS & Fabia (separate letters) from a Skoda dealer.

I put a VRS badges on front door panels, near the front wing, just above the black plastic strip.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Spacing for the letters is like so:

From the bottom lip its 11mm cant remember how far from the right edge though

Skoda supplies them all joined up on a bit of paper so u dont need to space them! Just stick away

Whilst that's similar to the actual badge, it's not the same - compare with my photo.

I'll be de badging the "FABIA" badge tonight..

I think it changed at some point. Depends how old your Fabia is:

Isn't it AMAZING what you learn on this forum.

Why would Skoda change the font being used for the badge? (presumably on other models too?)

I can only deduce that it's to make it easier to clean. I hadn't noticed the difference between my 2004vRS and my 2007vRS until this was mentioned but I've now been "feeling" my new one and conclude it'll be much easier to clean between the letters...

They also changed the vRS badge on the rear too.

I took this half way through washing the car earlier. I've never noticed it being so much shorter on others.

It's well known the length of the vRS badge was changed - it happened in early 2004. The theory is that they initially used Octavia ones - and Octavia is longer than Fabia - but changed to a shorter one to match the text after a few months of production.

However the change in font is a totally new issue I've only heard about/realised today...

weird!

mine's below:

seems to be the matching length 'fabia' and 'vrs' ones......

As I said the change happened in "early 2004" so mainly affected 53 plates - 04 plates weren't introduced until March 2004 and clearly yours is post the change.

My 53 plate has a long octy badge. I`v taken the fabia one off tho.

Cheers all so far! Not bought the badges yet, as gotta wait until pay day...but I want to get them on as soon as possible afterwards. So from the "lip" to the badge is 11mm (cheers Banana Tobacco) but how about from the right hand side to the edge of the vRS logo?

Also, if Skoda provide them on a piece of paper...thats fine, but surely you have to remove them from the piece of paper to stick them on...thus needing to know the distances :)

If you look at my photo you'll see it's centred between the edge of the hatch and the numberplate recess. I can't see why you need it so precise to be honest...

From the bottom lip its 11mm

Mine's only 9.5mm

many thanks! thats what I was after. I just wanted to get it right when the badges go back on. Too high, too low, too far left, too far right would look odd.

Cheers for the pic!

Make sure you get it horizontal - then post a picture for us all to criticise...

Mine's only 9.5mm

close enough lol
