I saw a "SKODA OCTAVIA FULL SERVICE REPAIR WORKSHOP MANUAL DVD" on ebay and wondered if it would be quite useful? Previously I've done some work on cars to save some cash so this could be useful.

LOL, thats better, it looks ok to me but i am sure there are more folks on here that will know far more than me.

I purchased one of these sets in anticipation of the arrival of my MY2011 Scout. It arrived promptly, was well packaged and easy to install. I'd say it is of some value and for £10 you can't go far wrong. A word of caution; it is suitable for installation to 32-bit systems only.

As its a copy of what they use in dealerships you cant go wrong. I have one and its been very useful, wipes the floor with a 'Haynes' type manual.

I bought one in the end, it's really good once you have a play and find your way around all the options. One bit I found really interesting was the campaign details which in everday terms means 'recall'. I manged to find out that my Octavia has been back for the dual fly wheel repalcement and it's interesting to see the dealer instructions in PDF documents.

Problem is,when you install it gives a temorary code and will only work for a few days, you have to follow the instructions sent with the disc and email the temporary code along with the ebay details and you get back the activation code to make it all pukker.

if it is just nicked for a fas buck then they have given some thought and must have a key generator

The activation code is unlikely to be single use.

Unless they own the copyright, which I very much doubt, I agree it doesn't seem right to continue to line the sellers pockets.

It allows the 32-bit os to run in a window inside the 64-bit os and is a bit less of a hassle than creating a new partition and setting up a dual-boot etc., and more easily deleted if you decide you don't need it anymore.

Just got this setup myself...VERY handy.

Is quite different from Haynes manuals, but that's all I've ever used. I'll try it out next time I need help, but with a Skoda, that shouldn't be too soon.
