Service Indicator

Featured Replies

Folks perhaps someone can help me as I've carried out some searches on the site but am unable to find an answer?

I'm leaving the Octy in for a service with a local mechanic and am wondering about re-setting the serivce indicator, to do this should I just follow the handbook instructions (or is there more to it)?

Regards.

If the local mechanic doesnt know how to do it..Walk away !!

Its really easy....As described in your manual

Hi

The handbook method works but sets the car to fixed intervals.

If you are keeping to variable you need a VAG/VAG specialist/garage with a reset tool.

That said, I bought a engine code reader for 90 quid made by Autel which can reset the service interval to any interval you want including variable.

Also anyone with a genuine VCDS interface can reset the variable service indicator .

Okay, thanks for the replies.

ChrisRs: I've used the local mechanic for years (just not on a Skoda yet), I assume he can re-set the indicator but was curious to know myself.

FriendlyFire: The car is on (and has been from new) fixed service intervals.

Again, thanks for the info.

Cheers.
