Another Welsh Yeti

Featured Replies

Well the day has finally come when I get the call to tell me that my Yeti has arrived at the dealers, after test driving it way back in April and placing the order in May the wait is nearly over, It's a Pacific Blue 1.2 TSI Elegance with Annapurna alloys and a three spoke wheel.

Because we are off on a weeks holiday this week it has broken my heart to delay the delivery of the car until we return on the 24th.

I have bought it through a fleet hire company at considerable saving, so much so that when I asked Skoda dealers to match the price they all said it was less than they pay for them! When delivery has taken place I will post a further report on the pros and cons of this system of buying. I know a number of posts have been made on this subject, but I am sure my experiences may be helpful to other coming up behind.

Since test driving, I have only seen three SM,s on the road and they have all been in the last month or so, so in my part of the world they are certainly a rare animal.

I am from the wonderful South, you will know it from your Sunday school outings and day trips of years ago, Porthcawl!

Two of the three sightings of SM's were seen within 200 yards from my house, visitors driving into the town I expect, this was after months driving all round England and Wales with only seeing one.

Kool stuff, there are a few more now so keep your eyes peeled :giggle:

We are off to Turkey, will be doing a lot of traveling in a coach so may see some SM's

Are you happy with the color? Some months after I had ordered it I went into a dealer who when I talked about Pacific Blue called it "Doom Blue" and not one he would recommend, so I am hoping all will be well when we see it.

Sales people should be taught to keep their opinions to themselves when it comes to colour. Gosh. It as an agonising decision as it is to have their prejudices also play a role. Like the salesman who told hmibennett on here that Gobi and Cappuccino does not mix!!!

Pacific blue should have been called TERRIFIC blue. You'll LOVE it. best of all it's FREE

Did consider Pacific for our Yeti but likewise the salesman was against it. In the end we went for our first choice the Corrida Red. However we do now have in our opinion anyway a nice Pacific blue Fabia on the drive (wife's new motor) and this time the only comment from the salesman (different dealer) was he didn't realise you could order a Fabia in Pacific

Hi Roymac, I live just north of Bridgend so no doubt will see you around, the only yeti's I've seen in the area apart from mine are a silver one around Llantwit area and a steel grey one I've passed on the M4 a few times. There is a Pacific blue Yeti that parks near my office in Cardiff and it is a nice colour that suits the yeti, not too different from the storm blue colour except for the metallic finish.

Funny my dealer, Palmers Watford, was of the opinion that Pacific Blue was the best flat colour Yeti option and I didn't and don't disagree :-)

You were once wealthy then! :giggle:

My wife seems to find a reason to change her car if I change mine. :S

Pacific Blue is great! The poll here shows it's not the most popular flat colour, but as polls go more people read the Sun than the Times :D

Currently feel like the proverbial church mouse emoticon-0106-crying.gif but I mustn't grumble as I do have a mini fleet of Skoa's to choose from B)
