tried to scan a felicia 1.9 diesel with my cheap scanner it wont read it linking error . so got a mates better scanner from his garage same linking error . because the diesel has no ecu is that why we can not read it . or will vag com read it . problem car wont start

If the ECU isn't there then i'd presume thats why you have a connection error..................I'm not up to speed on VAG com and scanners etc

aldso just checked only has the 3 wires going to the connector
